Also joining the board of trustees is BVA’s new President, Professor Bill Reilly. Bill qualified at Glasgow in 1970 and joined the State veterinaryservice in 1976 where he undertook a post graduate degree in Veterinary Public Health. After a successful period of secondment from MAFF, Bill joined the Communicable Disease (Scotland) Unit in 1989, going on to become Deputy Director. Bill has been very active in the BVA over the past twenty years or more, serving on numerous committees and became BVA President in September 2009. |

Sean Wensley was also re-elected for his second term as a BVA AWF trustee. Sean is the Senior Veterinary Surgeon for Communication and Education at PDSA, a role which provides him with opportunity to communicate evidence-based messages on companion animal health and welfare via local and national print and broadcast media.
An active BVA AWF trustee, Sean is also on the Foundation’s Way Forward Group, which is currently examining the strategic direction of the charity, and recently submitted a report entitled “How can the BVA AWF achieve a viable financial future?”. |
